Happy 20 weeks!
I can't believe I am halfway.
I'm glad I finally have a little something to show for it!
I am so excited for this little girl to come.

The Results

We're having a girl!

She did quite the little dance for us during the ultrasound - it was so fun to see my baby moving around! I already love her so much and am excited for her to come.

I can't wait ...
to see how she wraps Clay around her little finger. He is going to love that little girl!
to have a little buddy to hang out with all day.
to see what she looks like - I had dark curly hair and Clay was always a blondie.
to dress her up and buy her fun toys (including dolls and Barbies, of course)
to read to her every night.
To have a little baby of my own for Clay and I to smother (nicely) with love.

The Countdown

2 days until we find out if the human swimming around inside me is a BOY or GIRL! Until then, I will be anxiously awaiting my 3:30 appointment on Monday. If you haven't voted on the poll yet ... do it!

I really don't know what it is. There have been days when I've thought it must be a girl, but other days when I've felt like its a boy. So either way, it will be a surprise! I can think of so many reasons why it would be fun to have either.

Stay tuned for the results. I might even post a photo of my little baby belly. Might.

Best Ever Chocolate Chip Cookies
Thanks to my little sis Haley, I have found a foolproof recipe for delicious chocolate chip cookies. Just don't add too much flour, and really do only cook them for 9 minutes. You can also get creative by adding different kinds of chocolate chips. I like mixing milk and white chocolate chips or adding toffee.

Enjoy!

Cream together:
  • 2 cubes of melted (not just softened) butter
  • 2 eggs (room temp.)
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar

Add:

  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp (or more) vanilla
  • 3 - 3.5 cups flour
  • 1 bag chocolate chips

Bake at 350 degrees for 9 minutes on the middle rack - one tray at a time.

*Bake at 325 degrees if using the convection bake setting.

Our New Pets

Meet Rudy the Racoon and David the Deer. (Or Daphne, if this deer is in fact a lady.)

My allergies might stop me from having a little puppy, but at least these guys make regular appearances in my backyard to keep me company!
