Bye Bye, BYU Soccer

Clay just played his last game for BYU Men's Soccer tonight.

It was a bittersweet night! The game against the Abbotsford Rangers was intense and ended in a 1-1 tie. Clay even had a couple of shots on goal. My whole family and lots of friends were there--that made it SO awesome (and loud)--thank you for coming to Clay's games, friends and family!

At the end of the game, some fans picked Clay up and ran him around the field on their shoulders. That was pretty fun. Don't tell, but Clay admits to tearing up when he said the prayer after the game with the team. I teared up when they scored a goal--I know, cheesy. Soccer has just been such a huge part of Clay's life since he was a kid.

There will now be a bit of a void in our lives, but I'm sure we will find a way to fill it :)

Clay, you rock! When I think about Clay's season this year, and as a culmination of his soccer career up to this point, the word that comes to mind is Inspirational. We'll miss watching you captain the Cougars

ps - By virtue of this blog post comment, I am officially drafting Clay to any current and future teams I play on. I hope you enjoyed your 2 hours as a free agent.

Clay you are so dang awesome and the coolest soccer star we know! Kim, I'm pretty sure that golf could be this new void filler... at least for the guys. The tough part is that it's WAY less exciting to watch than soccer :( Anyway, we're so sad we couldn't be there for Clay's last game! Oh and yes I think we're real blogger champs now Kim. dun dun dun. I LOVE the picture for this post- you guys are the cutest couple ever! We love you and THANKS so much for teaching our class. See you soon.

love,

Hi Kim and Clay--it's your long lost roommate Kendra. Rachel gave me your blog address.
I remember going to Clay's soccer games--that's sad that there won't be anymore. Sigh.
Come by my blog sometime.
Love ya!
