40 Weeks and Then Some
So, I've been having regular contractions for the past week, and they unfailingly get more intense at night. They have progressively gotten harder each night and they've helped me dilate, etc., which is great, but they have yet to turn into active labor. The sleepless nights and anticipation have been a lot to handle at times, but I'm feeling pretty positive overall. I know she's coming soon! Bear with me as I list some reasons it's good Ellie hasn't come yet to keep me sane. Feel free to add some to the list!- Ellie's brain and lungs are developing at their most rapid rate now, so she's becoming smarter and a better breather every day.
- I have been able to clean my entire house from top to bottom. (Thanks to some crazy nesting urges and a wonderfully helpful husband and mother.)
- I feel more emotionally and mentally ready for Ellie to come with each babyless day that goes by.
- Clay and I have been able to spend some quality time together.
- December's not such a bad birthday month after all, right? I do love Christmas!
How about some pictures of the nursery? The photos aren't great quality so they don't show the colors very well. I wanted to keep the nursery simple and elegant without being too girly — I think it turned out pretty well. I even got crafty and made a pink frame, yellow lampshade cover and fabric circles to decorate it.

Kim you look great, keep the nesting up! I love the nursery and I'm glad you got all of Ellie's new things before you have her! We can't wait to meet her! Tell Clay to call us and we will come see her when you have her! We love you guys!
PS good things come to those who wait!
Cute Cute! Ha ha I just did the same "40 weeks thoughts" type post on my blog. December here we come :)
SO cute! I love the blue paint and the letters are SO fun! You've got such a great attitude!
Just think- for every day she stays in she gets to miss one day of FLU SEASON. That's pretty awesome. I loooove the nursery and can't wait to see it today!
I thought it was easier to rest without a newborn at home so take advantage of that! I remember the restless nights of contractions! I timed mine once for 5 hours! You look great and should feel very lucky, not many women get to experience what 40 plus weeks pregnant feels like, or at least that is what I told myself! Has your dr scheduled an induction or what is the plan?
Good luck, Kim and Clay! Can't wait to see some pics of Ellie when she comes! We'll pray for all three of you!
I love your nursery! You have very good taste!
I heard the little one has arrived!!! Congratulations!!! We can't wait to meet her. I love her nursery. It is ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE. I love all the colors and it just looks like a place you are going to love spending time in (which will be a lot!). Love you guys!
